 Furi Kuri, also known as FLCL, is the latest Studio Gainax production. The first episode of this anime (animation) was released on April, 26th of 2000 and it was comercialized as a six-episodes OVA (Original Animation Video) production in the most popular formats: DVD and VHS.
The manga (comic), based on the anime, will be serialized in three volumes (the first one is on sale now) and Gainax has planned to publish some novels too. NEWS: 2001.04.06
FLCL won't have a Motion Picture. The confusion about this subject was born in the  English version of Gainax's official web-site when they called "The Movie" to digitalized videos (avi, mov, rm, etc.) of the OAV's trailers. In the Japanese version, they replaced the "The Movie" section with some info of the Background Music. So, we can say that Furi Kura (the 6th and last OAV, released on March, 16th) is the end of the story and, in my opinion, it is awesome.
FLCL will be comercialized in North America! Digital Manga has just acquired the copyrights of this OAV series and due to this, I will have to take off the videos from the multimedia section. Sorry about this, here's the e-mail that Stephanie from Digital Manga sent me. read 2001.01.01
